Marriage can be defined as "a social union or legal contract between individuals that creates kinship". The issue of same-sex marriage is something that often causes conflict between people who see the issue from a number of different perspectives. There are some who support same-sex marriages because they believe that all individuals deserve equal rights, regardless of sexual orientation. On the other hand, there are those who oppose same-sex marriage because they believe that marriage should only be the union of a man and a woman. The issues of same-sex marriage and homosexuality have increasingly come up across the United States; from high school students being banned from the proms to soldiers in the military being fired from their jobs, same-sex marriage and homosexuality has been an issue that has had an impact of the lives of millions of Americans. Should same-sex couples be granted the rights as heterosexual couples? Why or why not?

ReplyDeleteIt seems like most people are okay with gay people marrying each other, but in the state of Maryland gay marriages are not recognized. So, if two gay people get married and one of them suddenly gets sick or dies, their partner will not have any rights to their health insurance or life insurance policies. Do you agree with this?

ReplyDeleteI think that same sex marraige is perfectly fine but if they have kids then when the child gets about 5 or 6 then they have to be responsible for telling the child when he or she gets older and have to tell them nothing but the truth.
